The Cat and the Mouse
Once upon a time, there was a cat named Tom and a mouse named Jerry. Tom was always trying to catch Jerry, but Jerry was too clever for him. One day, Tom was sitting on the couch when he saw Jerry running across the floor. Tom jumped up and chased after him. Jerry ran into the kitchen and hid under the refrigerator. Tom couldn’t find him, so he gave up and went back to the couch.
A few minutes later, Jerry came out from under the refrigerator and started to look for food. He found a piece of cheese on the counter and started to eat it. Tom saw him and started to chase him again. Jerry ran around the kitchen, but Tom was too fast for him. Just when Tom was about to catch him, Jerry jumped onto the counter and climbed up the curtains. Tom couldn’t reach him, so he gave up and went back to the couch.
Jerry was safe for now, but he knew that Tom would be back. He decided to make a plan to get rid of Tom once and for all. The next day, Jerry went to the hardware store and bought a mousetrap. He set the mousetrap in the kitchen and waited for Tom to come.
A few minutes later, Tom came into the kitchen and saw the mousetrap. He didn’t know what it was, so he stepped on it. The mousetrap snapped shut and caught Tom’s paw. Tom yowled in pain and tried to get away, but he couldn’t. Jerry came out from under the refrigerator and laughed at Tom.
“Ha ha!” said Jerry. “I got you now!”
Tom was furious. He tried to bite Jerry, but Jerry was too quick for him. Jerry ran out of the kitchen and into the living room. Tom chased after him, but he couldn’t catch him.
Jerry ran up the stairs and into his bedroom. He closed the door and locked it. Tom was left outside, yowling in frustration.
Jerry was finally safe from Tom. He had gotten rid of his enemy once and for all.
