The company was founded in 1984 by Vehbi Koç, the founder of the Koç Group, one of Turkey’s largest conglomerates. The name Vestel is a combination of the words “Vest” and “Tel”, which represent the company’s initial focus on producing television sets and telecommunication equipment.
Over the years, Vestel has expanded its product portfolio to include a wide range of consumer electronics and home appliances, including televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, and air conditioners. The company has also established a strong presence in the global market, with operations in over 150 countries.

Şirket, Türkiye’nin en büyük şirket gruplarından biri olan Koç Grubu’nun kurucusu Vehbi Koç tarafından 1984 yılında kurulmuştur. Vestel ismi, şirketin ilk olarak televizyon setleri ve telekomünikasyon ekipmanları üretmeye odaklanmasını temsil eden “Vest” ve “Tel” kelimelerinin birleşimidir.
